AJA’s KiPro Mini external recorder will be getting a new firmware update soon with two new features added straight away and one more excellent feature to follow. Here is what firmware version 3.0 will give you:
- Super-imposed (not burnt-in) timecode
- The ability to take timecode embedded in the HDMI signal from the Sony NEX- FS100 camera
- Avid DNxHD file format recording*
These extra features – in particular the FS100 timecode support and eventual Avid file format support – open the KiPro Mini up for use with one of the most interesting new cameras on the market and for anyone who works with an Avid post workflow.
The capabilities of external recorders is getting better all the time!
We don’t have a date yet for the new firmware but keep checking the AJA support page for any news: http://www.aja.com/support/ki-pro/ki-pro-mini.php
*this feature will not be active in the initial firmware release but will become available later.
