Broadcast cameramen might be interested to know about a novel broadcast camera equipment application. We have heard a rumour that a Go Pro Hero HD camera is to be fitted to the saddle of Her Majesty the Queen's horse, Carlton House, riding in the Investec Epson Derby. Carlton House is a favourite to win the race. The idea is that the camera is mounted on the rear edge of the saddle, facing backwards. This will give a stunning POV or the rest of the field. The compact form and exceptionally low weight of the camera is thought unlikely to interfere with the jockey and horse's performance. Can't wait to see the footage, if the rumour is true!
