Lighting Workshop with Andy Bell - Thursday 13th. November 2014, in the Prokit showroom.
Andy Bell is a broadcast cameraman bringing over 25 years of experience to the class, and has held previous sessions on interview lighting that have been excellently received:
“Andy’s hands-on workshops are a lot of fun – ‘what can you do with two lamps and a given programme style?’ but with the constraints of time and space, Andy took us through lighting plots that moved a step or two beyond ‘3 point’ setups plus a few little tricks too.
During the day, Andy showed how to set up tungsten and LED heads to show the subject in the best possible light. It was an interactive, hands-on seminar that was invaluable to anybody new to lighting for video or needing a brush up”
This November’s workshop is designed to get you prepared to light and film both indoor and outdoor interview situations.
We’ll be splitting the day into two sessions.
The morning session will run from 10am to 1pm and cover “interior lighting”, helping you learn how to light interviews for corporates and documentaries.
The session will involve:
- Three point lighting kits and set ups, as well as two light set ups.
You will then be split into groups to put what you have learned into practice on live camera set ups!
The afternoon session will run from from 2pm until 4.30pm and cover “exterior lighting”, helping you learn how to deal with the unpredictable and changeable conditions faced when filming out in the open. The session will involve:
- Lighting outside: Battery powered heads and making the most of available light
You will then go outside (weather permitting!) to put your new knowledge into practice.
With expert guidance, hands-on experience and a focus on real-world situations, this Workshop will give you a valuable grounding in two and three point lighting set ups.
The workshop will be held at the Prokit’s Chiswick Showroom on Thursday 13th November.
You can attend a single morning or afternoon session for £50 + vat, or book yourself onto a whole day for £75 + vat. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Click here to register your place!
