Sony has today launched the new HXR-NX100 adding to its already successful NXCAM range of professional camcorders.

By combining stunning picture quality with a varied selection of recording formats the Japanese manufacturer has created a camera that is well prepared to capture quality content in any environment.

“The HXR‐NX100 brings the very best in resolution, depth of field control and low light performance thanks to its big 1.0‐type Exmor R CMOS sensor, allowing content creators to capture beautiful images in any environment,” said Robbie Fleming, who is the product marketing manager at Sony Professional Solutions Europe.

He added: “Its ergonomic design ensures comfortable handling and the ability to record in XAVC S 50Mbps means the camcorder delivers quality content across a range of shoots, such as events and corporate videos.”

The camera features a fixed Sony G lens to offer 12x optical zoom from 29mm angle of view at wide end that can be increased to 24x with Clear Image Zoom.

Furthermore, the lightweight and easy-to-use device is able to record in AVCHD, DV, and XAVC 50Mbps for multiple choices and high quality images.

The camcorder can record onto two memory cards either simultaneously or via a relay mode thanks to its dual media slots. Recording will also automatically switch when the first card is full.

Moreover, this newest member of the NXCAM range has three independent manual lens rings that give simple access to zoom, focus and iris functions, plus its zoom performance can be doubled at any point with a Digital Extender by up to 48x.

Robbie Flemming concluded: “In the HXR‐NX100, professionals have a versatile camcorder that lets them concentrate on doing what they love, with minimum hassle.”

You can pre-order the HXR-NX100 from the PROKIT site today. The camera is expected to be available around October 2015.
