The 15MM ROD SYSTEM allows the use of video accessories like matte boxes and 35mm lens adapter.
The TELESCOPIC SUPPORT ARM adds stability and versatility. Ideal for digital DSLR photo cameras like the Canon 5D, Canon 7D, Nikon D300s and Nikon D5000. The camera platform is positioned 3/4" (1.9 cm) higher than your shoulder tip. The camera can be moved back and forth by 3" (7.6 cm).
The 15MM ROD RISER SYSTEM is attached on the camera platform. The 15MM ROD RISER SYSTEM is shown here supporting a 35mm lens adapter (upper level of rods). The 15MM ROD SYSTEM is then free to support a matte box or a follow-focus mechanism (lower level of rods).
Compatible with most video and photo cameras with a standard 1/4-20 threaded socket.
COMPONENT 1 - SUMO SHOULDER RIG
The SU shoulder rig is the core of the SUMO I, SUMO II and SUMO II PRO camera supports.
You can easily adjust the SU shoulder rig to fit your needs and body type. Most of the adjustments are made using knobs, no tools are required. By using the knobs, you can:
Position the camera
The camera is attached with a standard 1/4-20 camera screw. The knob is accessible through a 3" (7.5 cm) slot on the camera platform. The camera can thus be positioned nearer or further from you. The angle at which the camera is pointing can also be set.
Position the BACK PAD or the COUNTER WEIGHT
The back pad or the counter weight can be positioned to fit your body type. The back pad or the counter weight can be removed when not needed.
Position the TELESCOPIC SUPPORT ARM
The TELESCOPIC SUPPORT ARM can be positioned to fit your body type. It can be removed when not needed.
Change the handle
The handle can be removed if you wish to use a different handle model.
The SU shoulder rig also offers the following features:
Position the 15MM ROD SYSTEM
The rod support system can be removed using a 4mm hexagonal key.
Position the SHAPE BOX
Using a standard flathead screwdriver, the SHAPE BOX can be attached to the BACK PAD or above the camera platform.
The shoulder rig can be used on both your left or right shoulder.
When wearing the camera support, the camera platform is positioned 3/4" (1.9 cm) above your shoulder tip. Thus the base of your camera is positioned 3/4" (1.9 cm) above your shoulder tip.
This camera support is made of lightweight aluminum for strength and durability. It is powder coat painted with a professional looking wrinkle finish. The shoulder pad is cushioned for superior comfort.
COMPONENT 2 - ROD1 15MM ROD SYSTEM
The 15MM ROD SYSTEM is part our solution for advanced video accessories like matte boxes, 35mm lens adapter and follow focus mechanisms. The 15MM ROD SYSTEM holds the weight of these accessories so no additional weight is put on the lens.
The 15MM ROD SYSTEM consists of a bracket and two 15mm aluminum rods. The rods are 8" (20.3 cm) long. The 15MM ROD SYSTEM is attached to the front of the shoulder rig using a 4mm hexagonal key. It can easily be removed when not needed.
The rods can be moved along the bracket in order to adjust their horizontal position. Simply unscrew the small knob, position the rods and screw the knob tightly to keep the rods in place. No tool is required to adjust the horizontal position of the rods.
The height of the rods is adjustable by up to 1 3/8" (3.5 cm) in order to match the height of the video accessory. For example, you may have to lower the rods in order to match the height of a matte box. A 4mm hexagonal key is required to adjust the height of the rods.
COMPONENT 3 - ARM1 TELESCOPIC SUPPORT ARM
The TELESCOPIC SUPPORT ARM is a Manfrotto 233B Camera Mount Bracket (without the Manfrotto 143BKT camera plate). A specially designed "L" bracket is used to attach the arm to the shoulder rig. The arm can be placed everywhere around you, by rotating it on 360 degrees horizontally and vertically.
Simply place the cup extremity on a stable surface. It can rest on your waist, your hip or your thigh. It can rests on the ground or a nearby wall for more stability. The cup can be quickly removed. The telescopic arm can then support accessories like a microphone or a camera light.
The TELESCOPIC SUPPORT ARM adds stability and versatility to the shoulder rig.
